Best sushi and great people that work there!

Uni- decomposing. Hamachi- decomposing. Yes, breaking down and decomposing...to the point that i could smell ammonia immediately. I knew it was bad as soon as i saw the discolored melted visual garbage but i had to give it a sniff just to let my nose take in the carnage my eyes were witnessing. Fun stuff. Obviously that abomination never made it into my mouth. Salmon "toro" was a joke tail cut with no fat. Belly cut, my ass. Only a matter of time until someone gets sick eating here. Yeah, that bad. Server was incompetent and so distracted by something (on the wall apparently) he could barely take my order. I was actually embarrassed for them. At least they didn't screw up my beer.

Went out with my cousin & her boyfriend after reading the rave reviews we decided to give it a go. What a terrible experience. Rolls weren't packed tightly, I have had sushi before and never have had this happen. Rolls had more rice than actual sushi. I basically paid to eat rice. Very expensive rice. Waiter took forever to bring out drinks. Overall it's a -1. I cannot believe this place has so many raving reviews. Oh to add I came home and got sick. Disgusting that is all.

Came here at 8:30pm and it was very quiet. Didn't really know what to expect but I ordered a Dinner Bento Box with my boyfriend and it came with an additional soup or salad. We picked the Sumo roll and Spicy Tuna roll. Tbh I really didn't like the rolls very much. The sumo roll was huge but there was only 4 rolls. The waitress seemed a little impatient and wasn't very cooperative when I had questions about our meal. I wish we would've tried the special rolls instead which were probably a lot better. Well the cherry on top of the meal was when our waitress offered dessert and we picked the fried vanilla ice cream. Which was incredibly delicious and a good portion for two people. I'd come back here just for that dessert and as far as the sushi I'd pick a single speciality roll.

My favorite sushi place on the Treasure Coast! The hot mama roll gets me every time! LOVE it! I typically order my sushi with soy paper cause I'm a big sissy la-la but I forgot to order it that way last time and even with the seaweed, holy hell.... YUMMM! Always excellent customer service. Always clean inside. Always superb! Writing this review makes me want sushi for dinner tonight! mmmmm

Best sushi hands down! I'm surprised to see any bad reviews on here. My boyfriend and I have tried at least 15 different rolls, and they've all been yummy. The hot mama roll is the best! I'd give this place more stars if I could!

Best most authentic sushi I've had in a long time. Variety is large and quality is impressive.

My girlfriend and I threw up 10 minutes after leaving. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant. I wish I never stepped foot in this awful establishment. Today, 3/12/15, I took my girlfriend to lunch at Sushi Goma. We both ordered bento boxes with at least one salmon sushi roll in each. After tasting the salmon sushi, bad idea, I smelled it...it was the worst salmon I have ever been served in my life. Salmon is my favorite sushi and they totally botched it. After explaining to the server and chef that the salmon was bad, they said, "it is the same salmon everyone is eating", as if that was supposed to make us feel better. I then asked if I could have something else instead and they denied me! This was by far the worst restaurant experience of my life. I have never written a review for a restaurant before. This place compelled me to dl the yelp app and warn anyone reading this. If that is not enough warning to sway you from eating there, my next letter is to the health department.

Yum yum! Super fresh everything! The sushi is awesome, particularly the Tropical Shrimp Roll. Scallops Dynamite. Waygu Beef Carpaccio. The Mango Mochie is also great for dessert. Order hot sake to wash down your meal. You won't be disappointed by a visit to Goma.

Best sushi on the Treasure Coast! Everything is super fresh, and delicious! My husband says it's the closest to Japan he's eaten here in the states (including California!). I love the little touches, like the fact that the rice for the chirashi is seasoned with ginger.

I have to tell you this was one of the better sushi meals that I have had here in FL but top notch for our area in PSL. If it wasn't for a food stylist Katsumi that I met on a job in Miami that knows the family and recommended Goma, I would have never ventured in. The appetizers traditional, fresh and flavorful. We had the roasted shoshito peppers covered in Bonita flakes and a Wagyu Carpaccio to begin. However the star tonight was the Key West roll. Fried grouper, crab salad and avocado in a soy wrapper. Amazing flavors were wrapped up here - pun intended :) We finished with some traditional nigiri sushi and washed it all down with some wine and sake. And all at a fair price for what's delivered here. We will be returning!

We had dinner there the other night. We were back in town visiting friends and wanted some sushi. Everything was great, fresh, and beautiful presentation. The prices were reasonable. The server needed a little more training. Great place I highly recommend it to anyone who loves great sushi.

My and my best friend ate here for dinner for his birthday. The place is small with very little seating. At first glance you might pass up this quaint gem, but you would be missing out on there great priced rolls with all the quality of a more expensive restraunt. We had a total of seven specialty rolls and spent 65 bucks before tip. Talk about a good deal! It is there combo platters that is the key to a massive sushi meal! Great grub. I highly recommend it.

Amazing!! We've been here many times for sushi take-out and it never disappoints. We went and ate in the restaurant last night and everything was perfect. Service is great and they are happy to make recommendations If you are undecided. Tons of specials too, everything is super fresh and reasonably priced.

For the love of sushi - you have to try Sushi Goma. I was raised in Port St. Lucie and remember my first sushi experience, paid for with babysitting money, in St. Lucie West. I was forever in love. Couldn't get enough of the miso soup, ginger dressing, and flavorful rolls. Fast forward 16 years later to 2014 - I went away to college, have lived in several cities and have traveled the world. Never thought in my life that one of the best sushi places would be in...wait for it...PSL! One thing I've come to understand about sushi restaurants is that most of them have sprung up by entrepreneurial Chinese business people in response to the average American appetite. Chinese take-out is going the way of the dinosaur with newer cuisines like Thai, Indian, Vietnamese and Japanese popping up. So what does a savvy Chinese take-out restaurant owner do...why not open a sushi restaurant! Anyways, my point is that while there are many great Chinese sushi restaurants, it's very rare to find an actual authentic Japanese sushi restaurant. Sushi Goma is just that - fresh, authentic sushi carefully prepared by a Japanese chef. My unassuming brother went in there after he had been stationed in Japan for 2 years with the Marine Corps. Without thinking, he said "konnichiwa" to which they replied in Japanese. They carried on a small conversation in Japanese. He then tasted the sushi and agreed with me that it was just like being in Japan. All I'm saying is that I'm very suspicious of some of the less than good reviews on here, especially the ones without pictures, as there is a lot of competition in the area. You should try Sushi Goma out and make your own judgment. I look forward to coming home now because of this place. What can I say...it really brings the family together!

Purely fantastic. I come into town to visit family and always make this my first and last stop during my trip. The food is always cooked properly, and the flavor is intense, you can tell they pick the top freshest ingredients. Also if you are of legal age, the warm sake they serve is the smoothest sake I've ever had... This place left an imprint on my memory, and I will always recommend it. Can't wait to go back another time.

Sushi Goma is my favorite sushi place in Port St. Lucie. I don't stray from the sushi menu when I go and I'm not disappointed. The rolls are fun and lite, the staff is SUPER friendly. I go to Goma at least once a week. Take out or done in, they're good. The spicy mayo isn't TOO spicy, and the eel sauce is perfectly sweet. My go-to rolls are the green dragon, monkey, and paradise roll. The sashimi is also tasty and fresh. I would always recommend Goma.

Unpretentious, fresh and very friendly! Our family had the bento box dinners- very reasonably priced for such a flavorful selection of treats. The selection of sake was extensive and varied. The service was superb. The place is two minutes off the turnpike... If you're passing by, do yourself a favor and stop in.

In town visiting family. Had the Crab & Avocado salad. Amazing. If I lived here I would eat here often. This is truly a gem for Those of you who live in the area.

Super excited so i felt i would post half way through our meal! Just finished Calamari app- it was great- steaks of calamari rather than rings! Waitress is on point- just driving through and we are super happy we stopped!
(5)Steve T.
After seeing all the good reviews, we decided to try this "mom-and-pop" place. The sushi rice was not rolled tightly enough, and many rolls contained fried item(s), cream cheese or both. I personally do not like cream cheese in my sushi but starting to notice many place in PSL are like this! The lobster roll was good. We really wanted to a good sushi place but a little let down.

My husband and I have tried every sushi restaurant in a 60 mile radius and we have found our fav at Sushi Goma. We love everything from the food, service, price and how fast they are. We eat here regualry and have never, ever been disapponted.

It's very simple. Small place in a strip mall. Excellent sushi. Great service and....... very reasonable prices. Our favorite restaurant in town.

My favorite local sushi place :) Always fast and fresh!

We were pleasantly surprised by this little gem! We are fans of Sake Too but wanted to try something different. Clean & simple decor was refreshing (hint Sushi Naya & your horrible decor!). The sushi was delicious and the sake divine. Ce ce our server was so helpful but not obtrusive . So thrilled with our experience . We"ll be back!!

"Sushi Goma is the real deal, if you want authentic , fresh, clean, delicious sushi made by a True Sushi Expert, then Sushi Goma is the place. This is a family owned and operated business, warm, friendly and reasonably priced. I have eaten sushi all over the world and I would rate Goma as the top 10% of restaurants in its category"

Great food and great all around experience. I have had sushi from many locations and this is by far my favorite. The chef and staff are awesome and the prices are comparable to other locations. You don't have the glitz and glamor but you don't need it as the food is awesome! I seem to use that a lot is this but it is true. I love the fact that every time I visit I am greeted with a warm welcome from chef and staff.

I love this place. Between the sushi (the monkey roll is my favorite) to the sake sampler, it's a great place. It's a hole in the wall. It's a small place with no fancy interior. Service is solid. Family owned and very helpful if you aren't sure what you want.
(4)Jennifer G.
I dined here last year based on the reviews on Yelp. Disappointed. Have had better sushi at many other places.
(2)Tamami T.
My husband does not eat row fish, but he enjoyed tempra noodle soup, and spring roll. I had sashimi and eel roll sushi. Sashimi pieces were large cut, roll sushi was good portion to have with sashimi. Flavored sake shot was good for a lunch. Ornery chef and his wife maki san were both very nice.
(5)S S.
Very nice little place. The sushi is great! However, some of the other items (such as the tempura and beef bowls) are a little bland. Sushi is definitely the main attraction. I recommend the spider and volcano rolls.

Sushi Goma was recommended to my boyfriend and I from a friend. We are avid sushi eaters and have had the good and the bad regarding sushi. This was the bad. The rice was over cooked, there was more rice than fish (the fish portions they put in the rolls were microscopic at best), and the nori was hard to bite into. The meso soup was overly salty and hard to continue eating. We walked away disappointed and still hungry, since we were hardly able to eat our food. I will be avoiding this place, regardless of the "rave reviews".
(2)Lacey S.
The restaurant is clean and the sushi consistently good. The only complaint is the restaurant is small and sometimes understaffed. Worth the wait though. Take out is just as good as eat in.

yupp! i can easily believe that this is the best restaurant in the area...excellent quality sushi, delightful service...so pleasantly surprised to find such a spot in port st lucie... we tried this yummy chef special appetizer; a sauteed salmon with thinly sliced peppers and onions with ginger seasoning...it was superb.. a must go if you're in the area..
